Norvell Austin
Norvell Austin is a retired American professional wrestler, best known for his work in the Southern United States and as a tag team competitor. He was a pioneer in breaking racial barriers by forming one of the first mixed-race villainous tag teams with Sputnik Monroe in the 1970s.
During his career, Austin was a member of The Midnight Express (1981–1983) alongside Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose, winning several championships. Later, he teamed up with Koko B. Ware to form the Pretty Young Things, a team inspired by Michael Jackson’s style, capturing notable titles across various wrestling promotions.
Austin also had success as a singles competitor and in other tag teams, winning multiple championships throughout the Southern wrestling territories. He retired in the late 1980s but made occasional special appearances until 2004.
