Elsa Rosengren
Elsa Rosengren (born in Gothenburg, Sweden) started making films while attending Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, USA. To fund her studies she worked at sea for about a year before starting her education. She later moved to Berlin, following her acceptance for the film directing program at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB). Her graduation film I Want To Return Return Return won the German Film Critics Association Award 2022 for best short film, was selected for Nest at San Sebastian 2020, won 3rd prize ex-aequo at the Cannes Cinéfondation 2020, received the Grand Jury Prize at the Premiers Plans Festival D’Angers 2021 and shared the Best Student Film Award at the Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival 2021. Other films include The New & The Old (2023), News 23/06/2016 - Zeit Der Unruhe (Orona Award and Panavision Award Special Nominal Mention at Nest 2017), Elpiniki Plays the Accordion (2016) and Marionette (2012).
